My mission at Shear Body is to provide you with quality service from the moment you come through the door. Whether you come in for just a lip wax or full body wax, I will strive to do my best.

I received my Cosmetology license in July of 1980, after completing my training from Mansfield Beauty Academy.

Having been a cosmetologist for 43 years, and having worked for 5 different salons from the Portland and Bath/Brunswick areas, I decided it was time to open my own salon. (This, after I "retired" from the industry to try "something different". I didn't know how much I would miss it.)

Thanks to the experiences and training of the various salons I had worked for, I was able to offer a full Day Spa menu when I opened Shear Body Hair Studio & Spa.

In May of 2000, Shear Body began in a 110 sq. ft.space in the basement of the old Mitchell School on High Street in Bath, Maine. I stayed in that location for the next 3 years, once again building a clientele and improving my skills, especially those of being a small business owner.

Feeling a bit closed in I began to look for a new location. Construction on the new 1180 sq. ft. space began in April of 2003 and continued until mid August. We opened with a wedding party of 5 which was hectic and a lot of fun.

After 10 years I decided to down size to a smaller space in the same building. After a few weeks of construction, the new Shear Body Hair & Waxing Studio opened on December 17, 2014


After 8 years, I downsized again, to the space I'm currently in. Shear Body is now just a body waxing studio.
